They just don’t make ‘em like Miriam Gonzalez. Brown-haired and brown-eyed, with an eye-popping 34DDD bust, this sweet Latina gets more than her fair share of male attention – but believe it or not, it was thanks to her then-boyfriend, now-husband that she ended up in the Centerfold. “My fiancé wrote a letter, signed my name and sent my bikini pictures to Playboy,” she explains. “If Mike hadn’t sent the pictures, this never would have been possible!” Born in Queens, New York to a Puerto Rican family, Miriam was used to the spotlight – a self-professed theater kid, she spent her teen years on stage as a member of the drama club. “Still, I can be shy and reserved,” she admits. “Stick me in a room with someone and you won’t get much out of me. It’s easier for me to perform for a crowd.” As our Miss March 2001, Miriam was definitely a crowd-pleaser. “I was supposed to get married that month, but then I became Miss March,” she says happily. “Mike’s birthday is in March, so that was a nice treat for him!” Now in Los Angeles, California, Miriam put her talent to good use on Playboy Radio, and these days, she’s an independent radio producer and hostess for Afterbuzz TV. “My mom always told me that opportunity doesn’t knock at your door,” she says. “You have to get off your ass and knock at opportunity’s door! I take advantage of all opportunities, and I never settle for less.” Where Miriam is concerned more is more – and more of the sizzling Miss Gonzalez is never a bad thing.
